The Cybersecurity TAF program trains engineers in IT security. The curriculum is based on case studies that help students understand and manage cyber risks. The TAF provides students with the methodologies necessary for designing and managing the security of increasingly complex architectures.
A major sovereignty issue
The military programming law, the national digital security strategy, the White Book, and the Cyber Center of Excellence are just a few government initiatives that demonstrate cybersecurity's status as a national priority. However, there are many strategic challenges due to the proliferation of sophisticated and varied cyberattacks that can affect the nation's sovereignty, the resilience of its critical infrastructure, and the sustainability of its economic activity, as well as its technical and scientific potential. In the face of these challenges, there is a shortage of qualified cybersecurity personnel.
A multidisciplinary training program
IMT Atlantique engineers who complete this TAF will acquire the necessary scientific and technical knowledge to meet the needs of the cybersecurity market. Due to significant technical, technological, organizational, strategic, and political developments, it is necessary to broaden the audience and respond more precisely to the expectations of future employers. To address security issues, students taking this TAF will develop skills in cyber protection (e.g., access and usage control, encryption, and identity management), cyber defense (e.g., intrusion detection and response, and legal investigations), and new uses of communication and information processing technologies (e.g., cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and industrial systems). Students will acquire skills that enable them to model and analyze problems and deploy technical solutions. However, legal and organizational aspects, human factors, and economic impacts are also crucial to understanding threats and internal or external malicious behavior, as well as optimizing protection and remediation solutions.
